Annual Checks for Boilers and Cylinders in Beckenham
Heating Services ltd, a heating and plumbing company based in Oxted, Surrey, covers unvented cylinder work in Beckenham and other towns across London, Surrey and Kent. A proper boiler service measures combustion with a flue gas analyser and checks the burner, seals, flue and safety devices, with a written record left.
Is a boiler service more than a quick look?
It should be an inspection with numbers, not a look and a signature. The flue gases are analysed and the combustion figures written unvented cylinder installation in Westerham down. Gas pressure, the burner, the heat exchanger, the seals, the safety devices and the flue are all checked.
Services from Heating Services ltd are carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, with a written record left behind. Any repair found is quoted on its own, and no chargeable work is done without your say so.
Should I change my system boiler to a combi?
Only if the house suits one: a combi works best with good mains pressure and one or two bathrooms not used at the same time. A house with several bathrooms in use together usually suits a system boiler better.
What does Gas Safe registration mean for you?
Gas work at Heating Services ltd is carried out by Gas Safe registered engineers, and the business is a member of Checkatrade. The company has traded from Oxted since 2008.
Gas work for money is legally restricted to engineers on the Gas Safe Register. The engineer's card carries a number you can check against the register online. The card also lists which kinds of appliance that engineer is qualified to work on.
Why are my radiators not working even though I have hot water?
On a combi or system boiler, hot water and heating are separate calls, so this usually points to the thermostat, the timer, a diverter valve, or the pump. First make sure the heating is on and the thermostat is set higher than the room.
How can one Beckenham room stay cold all winter?
Flow follows the shortest path, which leaves the far radiators short. Balancing sets the flow through each radiator so the far end of the circuit gets its share. It costs nothing in parts and makes a noticeable difference.
A room that never warms up is as often a sizing or balancing problem as a boiler problem. At Heating Services ltd radiators are sized to the room's heat loss, with thermostatic valves so rooms are set separately.
